Responsibilities :
1.Prepare planning methods for daily routine, preventive maintenance schedules to ensure cost effective maintenance and minimize the risk of breakdown and unscheduled stoppages.
2.Prepare weekly schedule for work in coordination with Sr. Mechanical Engineer and respective Production Supervisors for the plant facilities to ensure execution to agreed priorities and procedures.
3.Coordinate with the respective Maintenance Section with regards to the work done during the previous week and work to be carried out during the following week.
4.Receive Maintenance Work Request (MWR) (SAP Notification) and studies the same, sets priorities after discussion with Maintenance Supervisor and production shift supervisor and prepares weekly schedule, conducts site visits for estimation on preferred jobs, ensures spares are available and monitor the work progress.
5.Prepare job plans for major activities and reviews with respective supervisors (Operations and Maintenance), plans spares / materials and tools requirements for the assigned area.
6.Prepare effective planning in coordination with other Maintenance Planners and Section Head for the assigned shutdowns / turnarounds to enable the completion of the agreed schedule, scope and quality.
7.Prepare work packages, and monitor progress and performance of the work during the shutdowns / turnarounds.
8.Participate in safety awareness talks and ensures safety training are conducted for the contractors
employees and safety standards are communicated to them.
9.Ensure all uses the proper provision of safety equipment, tools and protective clothing. Ensures that calibrations of safety critical instruments are done according to the PM schedules.
10.Provide information for the monthly and periodic reports as assigned by the Section Head. Ensures the preparation of backlog reports.
11.Promote and maintain effective communication within the operation and the maintenance department.
12.Contributes to the budget preparation of the section.
13.Contributes to the development and maintenance of SAP.
14.Initiate purchase requests through maintenance order as required to procure necessary direct materials, tracks history of spares utilization, contributes to develop overall spare requirements. Ensure availability of materials and spares.

We are seeking to hire services of a Mechanical Planning Engineer. The successful candidate will supervise and coordinate the planning processes to ensure effective workflow of daily, weekly and long term maintenance activities as well as provide efficient and cost effective job plans and schedules for day-to-day routine, preventive, breakdown, emergency and turnaround maintenance for Mechanical and all the mechanical equipment (static and rotating) to improve plant reliability.
